Description
If you love the hazy border look, the air of magic and enchantment about Thalictrum 'My Little Favourite' will have your heart beating! This beauty is just the ticket if you have a space towards the front of a partially shaded border. Unlike many meadow-rue, this one stays fairly compact so you can enjoy that graceful lacy look in a smaller space. Emerging from elegant, scalloped foliage, the wiry purple stems of Thalictrum 'My Little Favourite' will rise up in late spring with a generous topping of fluffy flower panicles which waft above the foliage and dance in the rain! This little addition to the border does not demand a lot of attention, but it will most certainly steal your heart!
Reaching a height of around 50cm, Thalictrum aquilegifolium 'My Little Favourite' sits will in the middle-front of a border. It prefers to chill out in partial or dappled shade and grows well in most soil—it’s handy to note, in fact, that this resilient and unfussy perennial also copes in clay soil. Hardy and tough, you needn’t worry about this plant in winter unless temperatures dip below -20°C!

Useful information
-
Soak the Thalictrum 'My Little Favourite' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Meadow-rue" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
