Description
There are several species within the genus Ornithogalum, but there’s one species in particular that really stands out. That’s Ornithogalum saundersiae. Also known as the Giant Chincherinchee, this plant of many names is a definite improvement on the run-of-the-mill. At Farmer Gracy's, we are lucky enough to be situated in the heart of the Dutch flower bulb district. We are surrounded by the best growers and we are proud to have a long-lasting relationship with the most respected and specialist cultivator and hybridizer of the finest and best performing ornithogalum bulbs. Ornithogalum saundersiae is the improved version of Ornithogalum arabicum. It's excellent as a cut flower, great for pots and performing very well in the yard!
This multi-functional ornithogalum is grown in Spain and The Netherlands to provide an continuous supply throughout the whole year. The Ornithogalum saundersiae (or Giant Chincherinchee) cut flower is being sold at premium pricing on the famous Dutch flower auction mainly due to the strong stems and big flowers. We advise to plant 3-5 bulbs per pot to create a great show this Summer. We supply top-size ornithogalum bulbs for optimal performance.
