Description
Hosta 'Twilight' is a recently introduced cultivar with thick, shiny leaves that are dark green in the centre, and with pronounced yellow margins. This yellow colouring turns to cream and white as the season progresses. A good, sturdy grower, it’s a beautiful variety that also demonstrates good resistance to slugs. In July, pale-to-medium lavender flowers are carried above the foliage on tall stalks. The plant grows into a large mound of attractive foliage, which stands out well in a shady part of the garden. Mature clumps can be a metre or more across in high season!
Hosta 'Twilight' is a tetraploid variety – a sport of Hosta fortunei var. aureomarginata. This means that it is more compact, has thicker leaves, and has more pronounced flowers than other, similar (non tetraploid) varieties. Mature clumps may be easily divided in the spring or autumn.

Useful information
-
Soak the Hosta 'Twilight' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Plantain lily" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
