Flowering from late spring to mid-summer in a fruity-looking cocktail blend of peach, pink and apricot tones, it’s right on cue to get the party started. There are two particularly great things about Geums. Firstly, they flower at a time when the garden often has a gap between spring and summer, which is useful. Secondly, they’re fully hardy perennials so you can expect a repeat show every year!
Geum—member of the Rosaceae or rose family—are known for their unfussy nature, which makes them a total delight to have in the garden. They’re clump-forming perennials, and each year they fill out a little bit more and produce a better profusion of flowers each time. True, they need a bit of time and patience, but with flowers this gorgeous, Geum 'Mai Tai' (Cocktails Series) is totally worth it!

Soak the Geum 'Mai Tai' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Avens" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
