Description
The name speaks for itself and it’s hard to disagree on that note, Echinacea 'Irresistible' is exceptionally desirable. Sumptuous, over-sized cones are surrounded by a flurry of tiny petals in sunset shades of coral-orange. The extra petals give the flower heads a luxurious fluffy appearance. The outer ring of reflexed petals curve backwards, forming a particularly eye-catching flower shape which is also a welcome landing spot for pollinators. These extravagant blooms are supported by sturdy, upright stems which are self supporting. With long, straight stems, they also make great cut flower material.
Echinacea 'Irresistible' is just as tantalising to bees and butterflies who appreciate these blooms as a rich source of nectar. This modern cultivar has been bred to sustain a neat and bushy habit which makes it suitable for large patio pots as well as borders. Flowering from mid to late summer, these hardy perennials bring a good dose of colour to mixed planting schemes, returning year after year to grace your garden with a splashy display.
Echinacea 'Irresistible' is a double-trouble treat for your garden! Not only does this compact coneflower variety grace your landscape with its flat, apricot-pink flowers from June to September, but it's also suitable for growing in containers. What's more? It's amazing as a cut flower and a powerful pollinator attractor. So don't be surprised if you find your garden buzzing with activity during the summer months—it's all thanks to Echinacea 'Irresistible'.
Plant Echinacea 'Irresistible' in a spot in sun where it can easily be seen. Note that it is around 60cm tall and will bush out as it gradually forms a wider clump over the years. It’s a gem in a mixed border with other summer flowering perennials and easily combines with most colours. You can create a really bright display, or go for a more muted, hazy look by planting these coneflowers with ornamental grasses.

Useful information
-
Soak the Echinacea 'Irresistible' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Coneflower" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
