Description
Aster 'Jenny' is a delightful, compact perennial that brings a burst of vibrant colour to the garden in late summer and early autumn. Its charming, daisy-like flowers, in a striking shade of deep magenta-pink, are set against a backdrop of fresh green foliage. Aster 'Jenny' is known for its abundance of blooms, which create a lively and cheerful display, brightening up borders just when other summer flowers are beginning to fade.
Aster 'Jenny' thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained, moderately fertile soil. It’s perfect for the front of borders, cottage gardens, or wildlife-friendly planting schemes, where its compact size makes it easy to integrate into mixed plantings. Aster 'Jenny' is also an excellent choice for filling gaps in late-season borders, bringing vibrant colour when many other plants have finished flowering.
Aster 'Jenny' or Symphyotrichum 'Jenny' is a fantastic plant for attracting pollinators, especially bees and butterflies, which flock to its nectar-rich blooms late in the season. This variety is hardy and easy to grow, providing reliable late-season colour year after year. Its compact, bushy habit makes it an excellent choice for smaller gardens or for edging larger borders, and it can also help to extend the flowering season well into autumn.

Useful information
-
Soak your Aster 'Jenny' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Michaelmas daisy" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
