Description
Sparks will fly with Alstroemeria 'Diana', adding a blazing inferno of colour to your summer borders! Those striped petals in flaming shades of orange and yellow appear from midsummer, and you can be sure this repeat-flowering hottie will carry on the warm hues into autumn long after many other blooms have faded. With straight stems up to 30cm and excellent vase life, florists will be falling over themselves to get hold of this sizzling Peruvian lily – this fiery number will turn up the heat in both summer and autumn arrangements.
Alstroemeria 'Diana' is fairly winter hardy and tends to do best in a sunny, sheltered spot. Planting in a suntrap will yield the most flowers, where those hot hues can shine bright in the golden rays. In colder areas, it’s always a good idea to apply a thick mulch of compost or bark to help to protect the crowns from the worst of the winter weather. Once Alstroemeria 'Diana' is established, you can snip off the faded stems through the season rather than deadheading them, doing this will encourage more flowering stems to grow.

Useful information
-
Soak your Alstroemeria 'Diana' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Dwarf Peruvian lily" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
