Description
Set a scorching summer scene with new Echinacea 'Pretty Parasols'! This variety brings on the beach vibes with multiple big umbrella-like blooms, formed of gleaming white downward petals which gradient into pink towards the centre, then topped off with the distinctive Echinacea cone. Noteworthy for its large blooms, particularly strong, straight stems and ability to produce multiple flowers per stem, Echinacea 'Pretty Parasols' is a real corker of a coneflower which earns its spot in any hot summer border.
Once this reliable hardy perennial has settled into an established clump it’ll produces masses of flowers. Every year it'll come back with more guts than the last, forming a bigger clump which produces more stems, many with multiple flowers which open in succession from mid to late summer. The strong stems make easy-going Echinacea 'Pretty Parasols' happily upright and less likely to need propping up after a spell of rain. Lots of flower power and minimal effort, what could be better than that?!

Soak the Echinacea 'Pretty Parasols' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Coneflower" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
