Description
Colour and scent are strong drawcards when it comes to deciding what to plant in your summer garden. This Freesia 'Single Mixed' will satisfy both of these requirements. The elegant flowers of this member of the Iris family, are bell-shaped and bright, ranging through mauve, orange, yellow and white to cerise. Single-flowered freesias are excellent in a container or in a vase, their cheerful demeanour and colour can do nothing but bring a smile to your face in mid to late summer. Staking freesias may be needed to keep the flower spikes from buckling as they get taller.
The fragrance of Freesia flowers is often used in perfumes: The peppery, fresh jolt with a subtle citrusy-terpenic note tingles the nostrils with the anticipation of warm weather.
