Description
Indeed, Geranium 'Plenum' is a double-flowered cranesbill! Cranesbill geraniums are loved for their resilience, tolerance to many conditions, hardiness and long flowering period. The only difference with this unique variety is that it has extra petals and flower power! The vivid purple ruffly blooms of double Geranium 'Plenum' will delight the eye when they burst into action in late spring, sat on their soft green cushion of foliage. Over the years, enjoy more and more from this plan t as it gradually spreads to pad out its space in the border.
Geranium himalayense 'Plenum' really isn't fussy, but given the choice it would love to grow in a space which has some light shade for part of the day. Soil type is not a problem for this double-flowered geranium, as it will usually anchor itself into all types including sandy, clay, loam or chalky soils. It finished flowering in mid summer, at which point you can cut it back completely and fresh new foliage will soon appear. In a good year (long summer) you might be treated to a second flush before autumn!

Useful information
-
Soak your Geranium 'Plenum' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Double-flowered cranesbill" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
