Description
Have that frown turned upside down all summer long by Monarda 'Bee-Happy'. It’s bright, bee-friendly, easy and cheerful. Whatever the weather or the day brings, this is a perky plant with a positive attitude and will brighten the mood with its eye-catching flowers, buzz of pollinators merrily busying themselves around it and aromatic bergamot foliage. Plant the hardy perennial Monarda 'Bee-Happy' in a sunny spot in a border and wait to be delighted by its yearly display of cheery bright blooms.
As Monarda didyma 'Bee-Happy' is a clump forming perennial, it will establish over time and return stronger and with more stems each year. It’s good to give a bare root a nice easy start in a temporary pot and grow it on for a few months before planting into a border. Once it’s in the border, it will demand very little attention aside from regular watering in the first year while it’s settling in. After that, it’s very low maintenance. Monarda 'Bee-Happy' dies back for winter and won’t require any frost protection, the following spring it starts the cycle again with fresh new growth. You and the bees will both be happy with this plant!

Useful information
-
Soak your Monarda 'Bee-Happy' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Bergamot" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
