Description
Bring a flamboyant pop of colour to summer borders with the sugary, bubble-gum shades of Alstroemeria 'Theresa'. Candy pink petals are splotched with raspberry and dotted with dark magenta freckles that catch the eye even from a distance, drawing you in for a closer look! Famed for their staying power, the blooms appear from late June, delivering a summery vibe that lasts through to October. Like all Peruvian lilies, Alstroemeria 'Theresa' makes exceptional cut flowers despite the shorter stems—pad out a small vase with a handful of these enjoy the detail of their orchid-like blooms!
The Colorita® series has been specially developed for dwarf, compact stems of just 20-30cm tall, which makes them perfect for brightening the front of borders and filling patio pots with a summer-long display. Don’t let the exotic looks of this plant fool you into thinking it’s fragile! Alstroemeria Colorita® 'Theresa' is undemanding and returns year after year to form a delightfully neat clump of rich green foliage. Although 'Theresa' is not the hardiest of Alstroemeria, this dazzling Peruvian lily tolerates temperatures to -5°C if planted in a sheltered spot with well drained soil.

Useful information
-
Soak the Alstroemeria 'Theresa' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Dwarf Peruvian lily" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
