Description
Paeonia 'She's my Star' is a striking herbaceous peony introduced in 2000 by the noted breeder Roy G. Klehm, and it certainly understands the importance of a memorable entrance. The fully double flowers are compact yet richly formed, combining soft pink to purple-pink outer petals with cream to soft yellow tones at the heart. This bicolour effect gives Paeonia 'She's my Star' a lively, almost illuminated quality, as though the bloom has been gently warmed from the centre outwards. Distinctive without being difficult to place, Paeonia 'She's my Star' brings individuality and polish to early summer borders.
Plant Paeonia 'She's my Star' in fertile, well-drained soil, in a sunny or lightly shaded position, allowing its unusual colouring room to shine. It pairs beautifully with violet salvias, pale yellow irises, silver foliage and dusky pink roses, creating a border that feels layered, romantic and slightly unexpected. The compact double blooms are also lovely for cutting, adding a soft bicolour note to vases and arrangements without overwhelming their companions. Long-lived, characterful and decidedly charming, Paeonia lactiflora 'She's my Star' is a peony for gardeners who like their flowers with poise, personality and a touch of stardust.

Useful information
-
Soak the Paeonia 'She's my Star' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost within a week of delivery and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
