Plant daffodil bulbs from September to November. If needed, store them somewhere cool and dry, away from mice, but plant before they begin to deteriorate.
'Bellabombe'
daffodil
Narcissus 'Bellabombe' brings something deliciously extravagant to the spring garden, with generously ruffled double flowers in a warm blend of peachy yellow and salmon. Layers of softly crinkled petals gather towards the centre, giving each bloom a wonderfully full, almost rosette-like appearance, while broader creamy yellow outer petals provide a luminous backdrop. The colouring of Narcissus 'Bellabombe' is particularly appealing, shifting subtly as the flowers mature and catching the spring light in shades of apricot, coral and soft gold. There is plenty of flamboyance here, but the gentle palette keeps everything beautifully balanced. Lightly fragrant and long flowering, Narcissus 'Bellabombe' provides weeks of interest at a time when every new bloom feels like a small celebration.
Plant Narcissus 'Bellabombe' where its intricate flowers can be appreciated at close quarters, perhaps beside a path, near a terrace or gathered into generous groups in a spring border. Its unusual salmon and yellow tones are easy to combine with creamy narcissus, dusky tulips and soft blue muscari, creating schemes that feel considered without becoming overly formal. Narcissus 'Bellabombe' is equally charming in containers, where those wonderfully fluffy blooms can take centre stage, and its lightly scented flowers make an especially pretty addition to spring arrangements indoors. Cheerful, distinctive and just a little bit lavish, Narcissus 'Bellabombe' turns the familiar spring daffodil into something altogether more unexpected.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, two to three times their own height deep and around 10cm apart. Smaller bulbs can be planted slightly closer together.
Water after planting if the soil is dry. Established bulbs in borders rarely need more, but water during dry spring weather and keep containers lightly moist.
Remove faded flowers, but leave the stems and foliage until they turn yellow and die back naturally. The bulbs can remain planted throughout the year.
