Liatris 'Kobold'

Liatris 'Kobold' is a compact, clump-forming perennial that brings strong vertical rhythm without overwhelming its surroundings. Often known as button snakewort, it forms neat tufts of narrow, grass-like foliage from which sturdy flower spikes rise in late summer. Compared with taller forms, Liatris 'Kobold' remains reassuringly contained, typically reaching 40–60cm, yet its flower spikes are pleasingly broad and densely packed. The rich purple blooms open in an unexpected and rather delightful way, starting at the top of the spike and working steadily downwards, creating a dynamic display that feels full of movement.
