Description
Dierama 'Luana' is a quietly elegant evergreen perennial, valued for its neat habit and gently arching flower stems that bring movement without drama. Forming dense, grassy clumps of fresh green foliage, it reaches around 30-50cm in height, remaining tidy and well mannered throughout the year. In early to midsummer, Dierama 'Luana' sends up slender, wand-like stems just above the leaves, each carrying a small number of softly pendant pink flowers. Their restrained presence gives this few-flowered wandflower a refined, almost minimalist beauty, perfect for gardeners who appreciate subtlety. Dierama pauciflorum 'Luana' sits comfortably in naturalistic planting schemes, where its fine texture weaves effortlessly between grasses and other perennials.
Exceptionally useful in well-drained soil and a sunny position, Dierama 'Luana' thrives without fuss once established, rewarding patience with reliable summer interest. It is particularly effective at the front of borders or along paths, where its arching stems can be admired up close. Unlike more exuberant varieties, Dierama 'Luana' offers a calm, composed character that complements bolder neighbours rather than competing with them. The evergreen foliage ensures year-round structure, making this few-flowered wandflower a dependable choice for thoughtful, design-led gardens. Over time, Dierama pauciflorum 'Luana' develops into a handsome clump, quietly improving with each season.

Useful information
-
Soak your Dierama 'Luana' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Few-flowered wandflower" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
