Description
There’s no denying the regal standing of this very colourful and eye-catching crocus. Crocus chrysanthus 'Prins Claus' wears the royal colours of purple and white on the outside of a cup which has a white lining tinged with the same shade of purple. In the bottom of the cup a little dark orange pools around bright gold stamens in the centre, but then nothing less than gold would be worthy of this royal prince. The flamboyance of the purple and white outside petals means that even when the buds don’t open in dull weather, this prince will still make his authority felt in the early spring garden.
