This stunning harbinger of spring, Crocus chrysanthus 'Ard Schenk' seems to have caught a dollop of sunshine in its snow-white cups. It produces multiple flowers from each bulb year after year as winter changes to spring. The sparkly white cup emerges from a tube of yellow orange, which also pools inside the cup. Bright orange-yellow anthers and stigma add a sunny glow. The frosty little beauty Crocus chrysanthus 'Ard Schenk' will make a cheery display in your garden. You might even catch yourself smiling as you wonder whether these flowers are drifts of snow left on your lawn after winter, or sundust dropped by a sun not yet quite ready for summer.

Choose full sun or light shade with well-drained soil. Improve heavy or sandy soil with organic matter. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost.
