Description
The sweeping lines of callas make each bloom of this plant into a work of art of its own. The pure white curled flower of the Calla albomaculata is probably the best known of the many varieties. A single thick white petal wraps round the large centre stamen, overlapping its edges on one side to form a funnel with a pouring tip at the other side. As the petal runs from the loosely overlapped base to the tip, the edges follow different lines sweeping and curling to the pointed tip. Large dark green leaves spotted with white also seem to play with lines as they curl and twist on their way to their tips.
Gracy's gardening tip
"Some Calla Lily varieties (like Calla albomaculata) come with an attractive white dotted foliage, giving them even more flair!"
