Description
Anemone 'Honorine Jobert' is one of those late-season perennials that quietly earns its place, returning each year with poise and reliability. Forming an elegant, upright clump, this white Japanese anemone reaches around 1.2 metres in height, its mid-green, three-lobed leaves creating a softly textured base through spring and early summer. As the season matures, Anemone 'Honorine Jobert' sends up slender, wiry stems topped with generous, semi-double flowers of the purest white. The outer petals overlap neatly, while the narrower inner petals frame a bright cluster of yellow stamens, catching the light and lifting shaded corners with ease. Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit, Anemone 'Honorine Jobert' is as dependable as it is beautiful, thriving in sun or partial shade with minimal fuss.
Flowering from summer well into autumn, Anemone 'Honorine Jobert' brings movement and freshness just as many borders begin to fade. The blooms hover above surrounding plants, making it ideal for weaving through ornamental grasses, late-flowering salvias or woodland-style planting schemes. Despite its refined appearance, Anemone 'Honorine Jobert' is robust and long-lived, gradually expanding into a generous clump without becoming unruly. It performs particularly well in moisture-retentive, well-drained soil, rewarding gardeners with an ever more impressive display year after year. Whether used to brighten a shaded edge or soften a sunny border, Anemone 'Honorine Jobert' offers a calm, luminous presence that feels both classic and quietly contemporary.
Anemone 'Honorine Jobert' is named after a 19th-century French plantswoman celebrated for her refined taste in garden flowers.

Useful information

Soak the Anemone 'Honorine Jobert' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Japanese anemone" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost within a week of delivery and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
