Choose a sturdy pot with drainage holes, allowing around 3cm between the bulb and the pot’s edge.
'Wimbledon'
syn. Hippeastrum 'Wimbledon'
Amaryllis 'Wimbledon' is an indoor bulb with a crisp, composed elegance, producing large double flowers in clean white with a fresh green glow at the throat. The layered petals open broadly, forming a full, sculptural bloom that feels both luxurious and wonderfully calm. There is nothing fussy about Amaryllis 'Wimbledon', despite its generous form, just a cool, confident beauty that brings light to winter rooms. Held on strong, upright stems above glossy, strap-shaped foliage, Hippeastrum 'Wimbledon' makes a striking feature for windowsills, sideboards and festive displays where a little refinement is required.
Plant Amaryllis 'Wimbledon' in a well-drained pot, leaving the upper part of the bulb visible, and place it somewhere bright and warm. Water sparingly at first, then more regularly once growth begins, avoiding waterlogged compost around the bulb. Its pure white flowers look especially elegant in simple ceramic containers, where the green centre can be properly appreciated without distraction. Long-lasting and pleasingly easy to grow, Amaryllis 'Wimbledon' is ideal for gifting, seasonal styling or adding a graceful focal point indoors. Fresh, poised and quietly grand, Hippeastrum 'Wimbledon' proves that white flowers can still command the room.

Use peat-free multipurpose compost and position the bulb with its pointed end upwards. Leave the neck and upper third of the bulb above the compost.
Place the pot indoors in a warm, bright position away from direct heat. Turn it regularly as the stem grows to keep it straight.
Water lightly after planting, then sparingly until growth appears. Increase watering as the plant develops, keeping the compost lightly moist but never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, but retain the flower stalk until it yellows. Continue watering and feeding while the leaves remain green to replenish the bulb.
