Description
We’re not at all surprised that this leafy beauty has caught your eye—Hosta 'Wu-La-La' is absolutely drop-dead gorgeous! A sport of the hugely popular Hosta 'Empress Wu', this spectacular new superstar shows you can improve on perfection by adding a zingy margin which lifts colour and texture to new heights. Each sultry blue-tinged leaf is edged with a lime-green flame, providing harmonious two-tone delight. And as if that wasn’t enough, once established, Hosta 'Wu-La-La's shapely mounds of foliage are adorned with a crown of bee-friendly lilac-coloured flowers from early summer through to July—what a stunner!
The shapely leaves of this glamazon are thicker and more substantial than many other varieties, and this means it has better resistance to slug and snail damage. Hosta 'Wu-La-La' does best in full or partial shade and favours moist but fertile and well-drained soil. The pretty plantain lily 'Wu-La-La' is also a big hit in urban gardens, being more tolerant of polluted air than some varieties. Establishing at a steady pace, this hardy perennial will grow back bigger every year and may take 3-5 years to reach its full maturity and impressive size—it will be well worth the wait!

Useful information
-
Soak the Hosta 'Wu-La-La' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Plantain lily" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
