Description
The elegance of clusiana tulips in their striking two-tone effect bring a note of sophistication to tulip displays. With this 'Super Mix', you can enjoy a gorgeous medley of petal colours: warm tangerine, soft apricot, citrus yellow and cherry pink, offset by clean whites. Tulip clusiana, sometimes known as the lady tulip, has wonderful form too. Elegant narrow cups with long pointed petals perform a wonderful dual act: emerging in neat, overlapping petals, and then bursting open in a star-shape and revealing their striking, dark stamens. The slender, upright foliage of clusiana tulips forms the perfect compliment to this stellar display.
Tulip clusiana is a tough and highly reliable botanical species native to Asia, and has great versatility. It often naturalises in favourable conditions, retuning to delight year after year in mid spring. Happy in sun or in light shade, it enjoys a fertile and free-draining soil. As it’s slightly taller than some of the other botanical species tulips, around 30cm tall, these Tulip clusiana 'Super Mix' bulbs are easy to dot around the garden in beds and borders, or to naturalise in grassy areas for a dash of original wildflower charm.
