Description
Sometimes simplicity is the key to elegance, and the pure white petals of Alstroemeria 'Claire' are testament to this. The delicate, finely ruffled blooms feature just the subtlest of markings, charmingly adorned with pale lime tinge and lemon blush—it’s tasteful, chic perfection! Like most Peruvian lilies, these make excellent cut flowers and this variety has the added bonus of an exceptionally generous flowering season. From June through to the first frosts, the crisp white blooms of Alstroemeria Colorita® 'Claire' will make excellent cutting material which will be a highlight in summer and autumn indoor arrangements or even wedding bouquets.
The Colorita® series of Alstroemeria are known for being densely branched and compact, so these pretty perennials should not need any staking and their neat form lends itself well to use in containers. Alstroemeria 'Claire' will grow happily in full sun to partial shade, but bear in mind that the shadier the spot, the fewer flowers will appear. The sunnier the better! Regular deadheading will promote more flowers to form, but interestingly, rather than snipping off the flowerhead, cutting the whole stem at the base is recommended as this will trigger the growth of new stems for a full, bushy plant.

Useful information
-
Soak the Alstroemeria 'Claire' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Dwarf Peruvian lily" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
